Minutes, General Meeting

Rosary: 7:15PM The Joyful Mysteries

Roll Call: Meeting opened at 7:55PM. Excused absences: Recorder Jim Gedicke, Carl Hellmers and Chaplain Roger Swenson. Reading of the minutes was dispensed.

Treasurer Ron Altobello: Balance as of 2-06-06, $10,166.40, plus $6,236.55 for the chapel fund and a CD for $8,000, which matures 5-15-06.

Financial Secretary Jerry Madere: 2006 dues are coming in. Traveling cards aren’t ready. Paid some minor expenses. $5,000 deposited from football pool. $1, 050 dues rerceived.

Deputy Grand Knight Paul Bates: Thanks to all for a sold-out football pool. Quarterly Communion Sunday 1-08-06, 8:30AM Rosary, 9:00AM Mass had a good turnout. District Free Throw Contest will be 2-11-2006, 9:00AM at St. Edward’s Pavillion. Membership Chairman Louis Bienvenu: No report

Right to Life Chairman Bob Borne: Picketing at the abortion clinic, 2-11-06, 7:30 – 9:30AM.

Lecturer Ken Krey: Vocation Cross volunteers needed for March. Call Parish Office or Krey.

District Deputy Joe Welch: Our council is in “good standing”, with new member (1), Insurance (0) and lost (1). District FreeThrow is 2-11-06, Area Free Throw is 2-18-06 at Delta Playground. 4th Degree in March.

Council Director Tony Maurin: This council may want to consider repairing the Mass Schedule sign damaged by Katrina since 5:30PM Masses begin again March 5th.

Grand Knight Mickey Lacombe: Discussed with Msgr. Swenson:

1)      Saturday, 3-25-06, 8:00AM, Day of recollection. OK

2)      “Blue Mass” 5-21-06. OK

3)      Altar Server event, dinner in cafeteria. Maybe.

4)      Next Quarterly Communion, 4-2-06, 9:00AM. Altar Society may not process in.

5)      No rosaries to First Communicants. None to RCIA. 4 Rosaries to CCD, OK.

6)      Lenten Supper 3-10-06. OK. (Men’s Club 3-24-06).

7)      Insurance premium quotes, $1,800 to $2,000.

Dennis Couvillon Insurance Executive: Confirmed premium cost estimates. State Farm may offer $400 if there’s a liquor exclusion. Participation requires insurance. There’s no benefactor who’s stepped up. Discussion followed.

Vote: Motion by Ric Rodriguez: Grand Knight be authorized to spend up to $2,500 for insurance premium. Second by Paul Bates. Passed unanimously.

Good of the Order: Many intentions were stated. Prayers were said.
