Chapel Fund.
Financial Secretary:
We have new K of C rosary cards with the new luminous mysteries, new
rosaries and membership cards for 2005.
Right To Life:
Bob Borne reported that there would
be a Heart of Life Novena at SCS.
Youth:
Paul Bates announced the free throw contest winners.
The 11 yr. old boy winner, Jordan Harper, won the district competition.
We may have an evening “midnight madness” free throw contest to boost
participation. The CYLA award
winner will be recognized at the 9 o’clock Mass on Mother’s Day.
Paul has maintained contact with Mrs. Basier regarding the essay contest.
Joe Chryssoverges
said that we spent $345.56 for 23 altar servers at the recent Climb-Max
activity.
Lenten Fish Fry: Mickey Lacombe said that we’d start cooking at 3:00 PM on
Friday, Feb. 18th. The
altar society will provide dessert. Bob
Farmer discussed items we need. Tony
Maurin volunteered to pick up a lot of the items. The dinner hours will be from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Grand Knight’s Report: Ric said that
our quarterly communion would be this Sunday at 9:00 AM. Special mass roles handled by Ron Altobello - Eucharistic
Minister, Tony Maurin – Cantor, and Jerry Madere – Lecturer.
After the mass, we will be helping with a blood drive by cooking pancakes
for donors for free and at a nominal cost for others.
Mickey Lacombe will provide coffee.
The blood drive provides juice for donors.
We collected 65 pints of blood last year.
We will start the phone tree for the Fish Fry and the Blood Drive.
Insurance: Recently we
were informed that the Knights of Columbus does not qualify as a “Parish
Ministry”; therefore we cannot be covered under the Archdiocese blanket
insurance policy. We scrambled to
find coverage with the help of Dennis Couvilion, Ron Altobello, and Jerry Madere.
Ron talked with Supreme. They
are aware of our problem and will need time to come up with a solution.
We found an underwriter that would cover all our normal activities for up
to $2 million for $1078/yr., which we will pay quarterly. We paid our first installment on Feb. 11th.
St. Patrick’s Day Booth: We
discussed our food booth for the March 13th St. Patrick’s Parade.
Blue Mass: The date for
our next Blue Mass will be June 12th.

AM in the Melancon Center. The
Archbishop will come to SCS to celebrate the 4:00 PM Mass on Sat. Feb. 26th
followed by a dedication of the Chapel of the Holy Innocents and a reception.
The SCS Lenten Mission will start on Monday, Feb. 28th.
District Deputy: Joe Welch
announced upcoming dates.
Meeting ended at 8:40 PM with prayers for the Good of our Order.
